Grand Teton National Park
If Utah’s parks were all about rock formations and marvels of Nature in sculpting these formations, Wyoming’s parks were all about nature in the form of wildlife for us.
Growing up in a concrete jungle ( I love being a city girl), this park has taken my breath away. The park is every word as picturesque as it's written about. The Grand Tetons providing a magical backdrop for hiking and animal watching. We visited this park because our good friend and trusted ‘local bay area guide’ - @Lakshmi suggested it. The evening we reached the park we saw a black Mama bear with her two cubs crossing a road and that itself made my trip. We got front - row seats of this family enjoying their habitat. Little did we know that this was just the beginning and we had quite some beautiful experiences in store for us.
Our cabin lodge opened up to a view at Jackson lake. Ani, being a sucker for Sunrise, had a ball of his time taking pictures of the mountains and lake while drinking his morning chai.

The next day we went to Jenny lake as suggested by our fellow Zion hikers @Eric and @Paige and hiked around the lake. The lake itself is 7000 feet and surrounded by the Grand Tetons with a 7 miles hike around the lake. The park is small and so across the park we saw Elk, pronghorn deer and Osprey.
The next day we were going to head to Yellowstone and Ani was bummed that he didn't get to see a grizzly bear. So, he suggested we go early in the morning for a drive just in case we get to see some grizzlies. Lo and behold, as soon as we stepped out of our Signal Mountain lodge in the park, we saw the most famous and the most friendly Grizzly Bear 399 (she has her on Wiki page)of this area, in a meadow, next to the river outside the Signal Mountain Lodge. She with her 4 two - year old cubs were by far the most beautiful moment of our trip. Along with some serious wildlife photographers with large telephoto lenses, we enjoyed just marveling at her clan.
There were no rangers in-sight for the first 20 mins, so we could stand as close as we could and watch her to our heart’s content. It was like experiencing the Mona Lisa without any crowd around to move you away (which was also a great experience at Louvre).
After we packed our bags and loaded the car and were on our way to Yellowstone, we met her again and this time she and her cubs decided to cross the street right in front of our car. Grizzly Bear 399 trumped (I hope we can still use this word to its true meaning) catching a glimpse of Amitabh Bachchan at Mumbai airport or Tim Cook walking across the hallway at Apple. The concrete jungle girl in me had her best moment with wildlife.
