From Napa to Sula

This trip was my most favorite trip of the year. This trip had a lots of firsts and voow moments.

The raw peanuts for me are a quintessential Maharashtrian thing and Nashik is one of the most prominent cities of Maharashtra. The trip to Nashik turned out to be a family trip with something to do for everyone.

We drove in my dad’s car to Parisha farms @thewindsorvilla where we were greeted with a cup of tea and a walk in their farm. We picked the vegetables that we would have in the night and planned to meet our friends in the city.

At Vishal’s house

The hospitality of Nashik is one of its kind and we enjoyed it to the fullest with our friends over aloo parathas and wedding memories.

My dad got his architectural advice from the smartest young architect in town (who by the way is also an amazing artist) and Aru found a friend to play with.

Don’t know what my dad is upto.. Lol

We left Vishal and Sucheta’s house with stomach and heart full and were welcomed with scotch and some pakoras as we reached our @thewindsorvilla followed by sumptuous traditional meal all cooked at the property.

Traditional Farm to Table Thali

Ani and I spent time chatting with our Uncle who drove down 4 hours just to spend time with us and Aru. Mama(as Aru calls him with love) was rewarded with cheers while drinking his whisky and Aru with his empty glass. We had a great night over some philosophical conversations about future.

The next day morning was our trip to Trimbakeshwar Jyotir ling at 6 AM. The Shiva temple was 20 mins drive from Parisha farms and the temple has three lingas (an iconic form of Shiva) representing Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma, which is not common to see.

The next place was something I selected..lol... A visit to Sula Winery.

Before we head out for Sula, Aru had his first encounter with “mooh Mooh here and mooh mooh there, Cow and a calf”. I have to post this pic because it was Aru’s first time touching and learning the sound of a cow from the animal and not from cocomelon.

The Sula winery was a world class experience at par with Robert Mondavi in Napa. We all ( excluding my mum and Aru) tasted 6-7 wines while enjoying the views from the tasting terrace. First of mine in India.

There is something for everyone. My dad enjoyed the tour of the plant along with the tastings. My mom enjoyed the beautiful breeze overlooking the vineyards. Ani and I enjoyed the experience of sitting in a winery and sipping wine after 2 long years..

All in all it was a fruitful trip with everyone’s heart content.

This is us unwinding in @thewindsorvilla Nashik. One can book this beautiful villa on Airbnb or Makemytrip
